London Wonderground

There’s a new festival in town this summer as London Wondergound comes to Earls Court. Featuring live music, comedy, cabaret, family shows and even a beach, there’s something for everyone. Taking over Empress Place (where the Earls Court 2 Exhibition Centre used to be), the festival will feature two performance areas; a Big Top and Underbelly’s famous upside-down purple cow tent Udderbelly, with a programme of comedy, circus, music, and ‘Best of the Edinburgh Festival’ acts.

The impressive line-up sees the likes of Rhod Gilbert, Stephen K Amos, The Choir of Man, Dead Ringers Live, Al Murray, Lucy Porter, Josh Berry, Mawaan Rizwan, Magical Bones and many more taking to the stage.

Artists Baker & Borowski have transformed a space on Warwick Road opposite Earl’s Court Underground station into a show stopping art installation as part of the festival. The artists’ takeover is made up of a huge 35-metre mural inspired by local wildflowers, alongside a sculptural structure and a floor design reminiscent of ‘Sumer of Love’ colours, echoing the Pleasure Gardens popular in the area during 18th century.

There’ll also be vintage fairground rides, DJs, the spectacular Dinosaur World Live show, and plenty of street food and drink on offer. Entry to the London Wonderground site will be free, with tickets to individual shows and events available to purchase on the website.
